CLAMS!!!

howdy y'all -

I've been pretty swamped, so I haven't posted the last few Kicksville tunes. Today is catch-up day ;-)

Anyhoo...this week's release is a loving tribute to one of the biggest a**holes in the music business, Buddy Rich:

For the record, CLAMS! was recorded and mixed in X2. Enjoy!

FANTASTIC, just as pretty much all of your stuff! I guess the speech is from Buddy Rich? This inspired me wo watch Buddy Rich getting up against Animal in a drum off at the Muppet Show

This is one terrific production.  The song is like an adult beverage, strong and intoxicating.  Though, people who don't know Buddy Rich should be forwarned.

    All the best,

Personally Buddy Rich was one of the greatest Jazz drummers ! That being said as a person he was a BIG GATOR in a BIG POND , he would slap you down in a heartbeat if he didn't like you but for decades people who loved the type of Jazz he played admired his drumming skills .
As for your lyrics  , XXXXX OUT ! Too many young kids today are effected in a bad way by the way artist express themselfs in song & Lyrics , to be honest with you I liked the music and your vocals but your lyrics I didn't care for at all .

Well, thanks for listening, James. But....you do know those aren't our "lyrics," right? Those samples are Buddy himself, and even if the samples are edited for either comedic value or to fit into a given space, his intent was pretty much as you hear it.

agreed. these ain't normal lyrics...AND the fact that the saxophones just keep on playing, regardless of Buddy rantings, is just hillarious!

    Thanks a lot, Mark!

And Tom, exactly....it's all about having some fun at Buddy's expense. If I was working for a band leader who ripped me like that at intermission, I would have gone out of my way the next set to burn that bridge in a glorious fashion and laugh heartily the whole time.

I don't care who you are - that kind of abuse has no place in a professional environment. Demanding and firm is fine. Zappa didn't let people slack off, but he didn't scream at 'em either. Raging lunacy and threats are something else altogether  But....at least we can get a good laugh out of it, right?
