COLLAPSED PROCESSORS EXPAND WHEN CLONED

I built my own 32 channel template and noticed the processors that I had collapsed expanded when I cloned the channel strips. I went in and collapsed all the strips one at a time, really not a big deal but I don't remember this happening in the past, but am not sure about that. I updated to "Jamaica plain" a couple of weeks ago and love the new features, not sure if that is my problem though. Anyone else having this same issue?
  Thanks, Bob

    Yes, confirmed here.

Don't know if it's a bug or "as intended"

From my perspective a processor is something to do with CPU. What do you mean my 'processor'.. Cheers..

You mean when you cloned the tracks? Do you mean the ProChannel strip (in the Console View)?

If so did you have the Prochannel open on the track you cloned in the Console View?

That might be it. Close the Prochannel pop out of the track you intend to clone and maybe it won't happen.

Unchecking the "Properties" box in the clone track dialog may keep it from happening as well (not sure exactly what that does but I think it might affect such things).

This is all just guesses though as a) I've never experienced this and b) have not yet installed JP. I also don't use the CV Prochannel popouts (but have been meaning to).

Cheers and welcome to the forum.

edit: oops... I glossed over that part. Still maybe check it out. Not at my DAW right now.

Right I have no clue what is meant by "processor" in this context.

"Processor" is a pretty common terminology for effects units/modules/etc. Like "effects processor".

I'm pretty sure the OP is referring to the Prochannel strips in the Console View (which is the only place where you'd see multiple Prochannel instances AFAIK and the usage of the term "strips" leads me to think it a CV thing even more so).

    I may be wrong.

    Of course.
    I'm always right.
    Except when I'm wrong.
    Which I usually am.

But that does not negate the fact I'm always right.

I assumed at the outset he was talking about PC processors, I went straight there & confirmed it.

It makes no difference if the Pro Channel is visible or not, neither does unchecking "Properties" before cloning.

Interestingly, unchecking Properties means input assignments don't get cloned, outputs do. Mute is cloned but solo isn't, neither is track name.

Edit Filter does, Volume, Pan & Gain don't get cloned along with automation Read/Write & Archive doesn't get cloned.

there some things the templates might not pick up, typically the collapsed track manager is one of them, by default it opens as track with properties.
(if that's what your talking about im also a little confused.)

Thanks for the swift replies, I have not had time to troubleshoot any further but I think Charlie may be correct. I should have been more detailed in my post, it is about the Pro Channel, specifically Sonar Platinum with JM upgrade and CA-2A compressor package. I should start another post for this next problem I found but it is kind of related. A couple of months ago I found a issue that caused me to stop using the Softube unit in Pro Channel, I used it for a couple of months and one day it was transparent, I could see the outline but had no way to adjust it, it might have still been working but I don't remember. I contacted Joe in support about the problem but at the time there was no answer for it. By the way, Cakewalk support is awesome, I have chatted with Joe a few times and he is very helpful. Anyway, Joe got back to me about the Softtube issue and it turns out the development team now figured out what's going on. He first asked if I had duel video monitors, and I do, I have a 24 inch touch screen and a 32 inch flat panel. He told me that if I try switching the monitors so that the primary #1 was where I was inserting the Softube, so I did and it worked. I did not switch my monitors but I made sure when I inserted the effect it was on #1 and it worked. I then put my mixer back on #2 and it stayed there, not sure for how long so I took it out, hard to trust it at this point. The development team is working on the problem so we will see what happens, what I was told is that the Softube will not "DRAW" correctly on a secondary monitor. Also to answer a question, the term processor as I use it is generic for everything in the pro channel, it's just easier than typing , Effects, compressor, EQ ect. If you want to be specific I consider any things like compressors and EQ processors because you plug into input and back out of output and the signal 100% changed as opposed to an Effect unit that you  would add reverb, echo, to the existing signal(audio). It's just my way of keeping things straight in my head, and trust me, at 61 I need all the help I can get.
    Thanks, Bob
