CPU Question

My laptop is a couple of years old, but runs Producer 8 just fine.  It's a Centrino Duo.  Is this enough muscle to get X1 up and running or do I need to buy a new machine first?

A real musician knows the difference between the music and the notes.

I'm underpowered as well. In my experience and probably several others here, if it runs 8 or 8.5 ok it'll almost certainly run X1 at a very similar level.

I am successfully running X1a on my Gateway 2.2G duo core, 2 gig of ram.
    Win 7 64 bit too!
But I kept the projects "lite".
Did an export audio last night, mix was great.
Only had about 8 audio tracks, TTS-1, some effects running, mainly "Izotope`s" plugs.

Still, I was impressed. But it glitches easily beyond that.
Nothing like my Quad cores I use in the main DAWs.

My laptop is great for learning X1a, screen size is daunting, but its ok.

For my on-the-road machine, I have a lap with a Centrino Duo 8400, 4gig ram and dual drives.   I run a USB M-Audio (ASIO) and a Oxygen25 keyboard.   It runs X1 fine for my needs.   For a test, I loaded the sample content song "Meant to Be" which has about 18 tracks of audio and 14 or so Subs - most all with FX plugins, some multi plugs.  My CPUs peak about 70% but no dropout.  I don't plan on ever getting to 18 tracks and 14 subs on the road, so for me the Centrino works just fine.  Forgot to add.  The lap is Win7(64) and I am running the 64 version of X1.

    Good Luck
