I read this and was wondering if I could use it to make sonar run a little better.
if anyone knows please let me know

Thank you very much

You could just try it and see.  I'm going to guess that the impact is quite dependent on your system hardware and what else is competing with Sonar.  The best bet is to limit the competition.

I've done a lot of operating system development over the years and I've been surprised from time to time how well operating systems manage their resources when compared to humans trying to make things better with tweaks.  Tweaking scheduling algorithms is especially fraught with peril.

    Caleb,
Did you try it?  If so, what happened?

My guess is the OP will see no appreciable difference in performance.

All you have done is to ensure that other processes that your game is getting smaller slices of the CPU. Therefore, using the computer more time to anticipate the task of filling the caches and do other chores involved in enforcing the rules of priority. Less CPU to go around means less effective.

Although many will disagree, I've found "Mickysoft" knows best about the OS.  There are a lot of tweaks available but most all are for specific issues only and don't apply or do anything for most users.

The better way to make Sonar run better is to remove the junk programs from your computer as opposed to adding more.

Now all the parson to have a computer. So all the parson to make a good work to given it. So all the parson to make his first priority his CPU good after to all the other thing check it. Because CPU is the main part of the computer.

CPU divide it priority on the bases of the request. That means in the manner of the FIFO( First In First OUT) and some time it will also see that which request will complete the first at that time SJF (short job first )is used by CPU.

CPU performing the work on bases of priority. It will decide which work has to perform , which should be completed in short time. For this type of scheduling their are some type of process 1) SJF 2) FIFO 3) Interrupt and etc.
