I really enjoy the IK CSR Plate Reverb.

I think it is IK's best product.

Use it all the time here.  It seems to play better with Jbridge than bitbridge under x64, but other than that it's great.

I have the hall. I like the sound of it. It does not do stereo or, I'm not doing something right.

Notation, the original DAW. Everything else is just rote. We are who we are and no more than another. Humans, you people are crazy.

I have the full CSR and would consider it quite a bargain at $49, as against most other good algorithmic reverbs. It's a fairly comprehensive and flexible set, you can do lots of cool stuff with macros and automation to get some movement in there. The plate is particularly good, as someone mentioned above. I don't think it compares with something like Aether or the premium Lexi stuff, but for the price I'd say it would be very hard to be disappointed with it.

I have used CSR extensively and it sounds great imho. The only reverb that I think is better, that I have used, is the Lex pcm 96 but that runs $1500-ish.

The CSR verb is low powered in the sense that when you have it turned all the way up. It isn't very overwhelming like many other reverbs. Neither is the Lex pcm 96 though. A simple solution here is to put a limiter, AFTER it, on the buss add a few db and... problem solved. That is IF you actually find the RARE situation you would need more volume out of it then it can give.

Imho, IF it is $49 for the CSR... the 4 different ones (4 algorithms Hall, plate, etc...) BUY IT. You will use those reverbs VERY OFTEN. Until you can afford $1500 for a Lexicon pcm 96 HAHA

On a side note, it's funny how the plugin has stayed at $1499 but the hardware unit has dropped to $1999.

    Good Luck!!!

I too have the Ik Hall and have used it here and there along with other 'verbs that came with Sonar and many free ones as well as "Nomad liquid verb".
And to be honest I was never the greatest at getting the "magic glue" that I wanted ..the sound every one was talking about?  It was always..metallic sounding or mushy.....I started running an EQ ahead of the verbs utilizing the HP filter and Hi pass as well. I did get better as time went on..

But then I discovered EastWest Quantum Leaps Spaces convolution reverb....It is not cheap..$299.00...Oh the sounds! The controls are very simple...how much and pre-delay and dry amount if any.
Houston we have glue.....my mixes have improved, as my satisfaction with the QLS is confirmed it is the best IMHO.
It comes loaded with fantastic location presets and plates and so on.

Convolution verbs are really another animal. If that's what you're after, I would recommend having a serious look at Liquidsonics Reverberate:
