C-Through Remix by The Lindale Project

Hey folks!
Just finished some tweaks to my most recent tune (available at the link below)

http://soundclick.com/share?songid=6633258

I left the original tune on my site also at
http://soundclick.com/share?songid=6592580

The main feedback I got was to have a hotter mix. I tried Boost 11 for the first time and hope I didn't squash it too badly. I listened and watched and there were not that many areas that required limiting. The other feedback issue was drums, not enough oomph. I decided to try the Boost 11 thing and see if that helped all on it's own.

I did some other tweaks based on advice from my collaborator, Tom of Project Shed. Mostly they are small but two tweaks are different from the original.

Anyway, I would appreciate another listen if possible. Not trying to make this one perfect just get it louder and eliminate obvious things that didn't fit originally.

In my mind & ears, certain songs need to be run a bit hotter, not only for the genre, but to amplify some of those little nuances that seem to get buried at times, as long as it's not over-done. In this case Tony, it worked. It has a bit more ooomphh and drive now. This mix seems well defined and the instruments sitting in their own place. I like!

Thanks Larry, I appreciate the re-listen and your comments. Tom sent me some more advice on this remix so I will be doing yet another. Nothing drastic just the small things that Tom listens for when we do our collabs. So you didn't think the drums around 1:49 to 2:00 were too out of place? I'm usually not bashful about using different loops from different sets/sessions but this one seemed to jump out at me. I thought since the guitars where so simple in that area (playing the same chord over and over) that the drums could be spicier.

Tony, the difference between the two mixes is incredible.

I like too its a really good groove with enough going on to maintain interest throughout.

The drum track is a good one, unlike many guitar based songs I can hear that a lot of work has gone into this particular track and it fits like a glove. The bit you mentioned I'd have been proud of if I'd have played it.

I didn't listen to the 1st, I'm on dial-up right now (ugh) so I had to download, and it took a while :-( I like the "Jam" feel to this. Accentuated by the way it starts.

Yep that's it!! Nice to hear that turned up to 11 . It does not sound over compressed. I like the song too.

Jonbuoy--thanks for listening and for the kind words about the drum track. I do try to make them interesting but I kinda turn a blind eye when it comes to "can this really be played?" questions.

Robby--thanks for checking it out. Jam is a term I like to use although the actual process for me is more like wandering in the woods and finding different paths to walk.

Max--thanks for stopping in to check the tune out. Glad you liked it and then I didn't foul up too badly with Boost 11.

Tom--thanks for the relisten. I definitely will have to look at older tunes and Boost 11 as I start to put my tunes together for my CD.

Yep and now you can create some really loud noise.

Tony that was really nice. I thought the mix sounded right on and energetic. that guitar is sweet and it just gets sweeter as the song progresses. Nice work.

Thanks for listening and for all the kind comments. I am very happy that this tune was well recieved for the most part. I still have a few things to tweak but I doubt I'll bug the forum for further comments since I don't think they will be too noticeable.
