CW Please bring back "Folder indents" before end of AUG

Its not trivial.  The really help but now I struggle to differentiate in large projects.

Still love y'all though.

I know it doesn't fix the issue but you may find it useful to change the folder line colour to something bright that stands out. I find it easier to see folder contents that way. Not as easy as an indent though admittedly.

It'd be nice, but I expect they're now locked down for testing. I'd be very surprised if we saw anything significant that isn't already on the list.

Please bring back the whole 8.5 style software.  There should be a "Heritage" button to make it at least look like the older software.  I installed X1 and couldn't even find the effects bin.  Luckily, I didn't uninstall 8.5.3....  Not sure who's bright idea it was to screw everything up... but someone should press a huge "UNDO" button on Sonar.

LOL that is asking a little bit too much.

If you stick with it just as you did with the old Sonar it will be just as nice.

I know its hard to have to rethink and relearn a program you know well but it is worth it.

I Have 8.5.3 on my system yet I never load it up. It has no appeal to me any more.  X1 though, I like a lot.  And yes I too find I have to search out stuff that I didn't before. But I didn't learn the old Sonar in a day or even a year. I did learn it  and I will be fully up to speed on this version in time. I'm about 99% there now.

    That's a good idea!

    O.K., I'll play:

Can I please create a send to a new track, rather than just a bus?

If Cakewalk had added that the X1, it would pretty much single-handedly outweigh all the other aspects of X1 that I don't like. I'd be using X1 for sure.
I could live with the X1-style folder indenting. It's not a deal breaker for me. I prefer the 8.5 look though.

+1  I agree about the folder indents. +1 to bring it back.
    So that makes +2.

In fact, in the new interface as a whole, it's a lot harder to differentiate the elements of the UI -- particularaly Console View with the ghosted Sends being almost the same intensity and saturatation value as the active Sends **scratches head**

I blame a lot of the way interface design is going on Apple who seem to have started the revolution of monocromatic, little or no indent, low contrast interfaces. Well... at least I like to blame it on Apple.

    yes!
And also, get rid of the bug where, with a brand new inserted folder that is not on the bottom of the track listing, when dragging and dropping a track into that folder, causes the track folder to skip to the bottom of the track listings.

This only happens upon the first track dragged into the folder when:
-The track folder is inserted somewhere above the bottom of the track listings
-Again only upon the first track dropped in

After it happens, I can drag the folder up where I wanted it before and when dragging more tracks into the folder, it does not happen anymore.

I submitted a bug report. I got another, Oh there is nothing wrong, do this, user error BS lol-

It would be really nice if you could change the color of the background for a track folder so that not only the font and font background could be a different color, but the whole track itelf -- even extending ino the background of the clip's pane.

Yes, this happens to me all the time.  What I do as a workaround is add a bunch of folders each with a dummy blank MIDI track.  Then when I need a new folder, I grab one of these and move it to wherever I want and can easily add new tracks without the folder suddenly jumping elsewhere.  For some reason if the folder is empty it is likely to jump to the bottom...

Yes please please PLEASE bring it back. This is one of the subtle features that make SONAR a premier DAW. No clue why it was changed in the first place.  ???
