[CWBRN-31349] - Staff View - snap 1/16th note bug
Here is the bug jsg reported: 1. New project (Normal) 2. New MIDI track. 3. Views -> Staff View 4. Add 4 notes at quarter note intervals (69) A3 by clicking on the stave. 1:1:000 5. Switch to 16th note insert. (hit T select 16ths) 6. Insert 4 16th notes (69) a3 by clicking on the stave. 2:1:000 7. Switch to 1/4 note insert (hit T select 1/4) 8. Insert 1/4 note at 2:2:000, insert 1/4 note at 2:2:240. (this is the first 1/16th note bug) 9. Expected behavior: Note snaps to 1/4 note grid. 10. Actual behavior: Note snaps to 16th note grid. This is the 1/16th note bug, 100% reproducible. It doesn't take a QA engineer to figure this out. This bug is relatively benign and useful in some cases due to other bugs.

Please note that it is entirely possible to really like Sonar while being critical about its behavior, personally I want it to be awesome.

Sell by date at 9000 posts. Do not feed. @48/24 & 128 buffers latency is 367 with offset of 38. This is the 1/16th note bug, 100% reproducible. It doesn't take a QA engineer to figure this out.
This bug is relatively benign and useful in some cases due to other bugs.
Tom is describing the same bug I am using different words. Tom, the workaround: choose the largest note value Sonar allows in the drop down menu (dotted whole note) and then click on any note that has a value of quarter note or larger. This will reset the snap so that it works (temporarily) as expected. However, the next time you use a smaller note value (16th or 32nd) the same problem will reappear. I like what you said about one can really like Sonar and still be critical of the parts of the program that don't work correctly or can be improved. JG www.jerrygerber.com
