[CWBRN-31737] - Soloing drum pieces with a drummap no longer working

Downloaded the update last night (I think it was Ryan that posted the download link) on my laptop here at home and did an offline install on my DAW in the studio today.  Then noticed that I can no longer solo drum pieces when using a drummap.  This was one of the features that I really liked about Platinum.
 
It it just me or anyone else experienced this?

OK...thanks scook.  I will give it another try tomorrow.  Just noticed it today with a project that I was working on yesterday in Platinum.  But after the update, I could no longer solo my snare, etc.  I too am using Superior Drummer 2 with the Avatar map.
 
Glad to know it's working for you.  Means it must be on my end.
 
Edited to add:  One thing I didn't do is reboot after running the update file.  Maybe it will work tomorrow when I boot everything back up.

I have created a few of my own drum maps.  But, this was with a project that I was just working on yesterday...soloing drums.  Just noticed that I couldn't do it today after the update.
 
Rebooting might make a difference.  If it doesn't...I will see if I can redo the update thru the CC instead of from the offline download file.

Just tried with Superior Drummer 2 with an Avatar map I built some time ago, solo and mute work OK. Also tested repositioning the MIDI track above the audio tracks (I believe this was a problem in the past).

I just tried it with Superior and AD2. No go. 
 
Here is a link to a .cwp that does not solo. TestSolo.cwp Go ahead an start the project in Build 37 x64 and see if you can simply press the solo on either the Kick or the Snare while the on bar loop in in play.

I have been kind of perplexed that no one else has chimed in on whether or not they can solo drum kit pieces in the new updated Platinum.  Thanks for checking this out for me Bapu.
 
I did create a NEW project from scratch today in the new updated Platinum.  I could solo the kit pieces.  But I have 16 new songs in an "background tracks" CD project I've been working on over the past few weeks.  I was hesitant to switch to Platinum mid project, but did try working on several of the songs just to try Platinum out.  Soloing kit pieces worked like a charm in the original version of Platinum.  But, I had other issues such as the midi notes dropping...others have posted experiencing this same problem.  I tried changing the MIDI buffers all the way up to 1000 with no luck (X3 works fine with no midi note drops at 250).
 
Anyway...I update when the update comes out.  Now I can no longer solo my drum kit parts.  Muting individual drum  parts work fine....but not solo.
 
Anyone else...?  Give this a quick try and let us know...?  Just solo a drum kit while using a drum map.  Thanks :) .

Edit: Also tried it with a new project and it worked. I only have AD2 for drums though.

You could solo the Kick or Snare audio track? And you are on build 37 x64 (i.e. Braintree)?

Sorry guys , yes I have the Braintree update  and yes I soloed kick and/or snare in Bapu's project and the one I created to test it. To be clear I was soloing at the drum map,not at the audio output track.

So I'm wondering if old projects work (well depending on what version of Sonar they were created on), and new projects don't?

People then need to confirm that the issue does not happen in new Braintree projects.

Reading this thread again it seems like the issue happens in projects created before Braintree, and Cakewalk might need to put in cleanup code for older projects....

It does not work in new projects for me either. The workaround for me is to solo or mute at the drum map and not at the audio track output.

So this is most confusing at the moment (maybe I'm not reading this thread correctly). So there must be some conditions where it works and some other conditions where it doesn't...?

I will have to try that (i.e. start a new project and add a drum module).
 
From a programmers (me) POV that does not make sense unless the act of adding a VSTi does some new magic in setting up internal routing that a previous project/template did not do.
 
BTW, I did send in a bug report on this last night.

I just created a new project. Did an Insert->SoftSynth->AD2.
 
Set the individual outs in AD2.
 
Added the AD2 Standard Drum Map. 
 
Did not close the project. I *could NOT* solo any audio kit piece.

Ahhh Bapu...that must be the difference.  I just tried it again.  I had NOT added a drum map when I started the NEW project then added the AD or SD.
 
YOU ARE CORRECT.  Once I added the drum map....no more soloing.
 
I'm so used to starting projects with one of my templates that already has the drum map...that I just forgot to add it in the new test project.
