It's obvious from that email they didn't fix it.  They just re-tested it and couldn't make it happen.  Which isn't the same thing as a developer actually finding the problem and fixing it.

Joe wrote - I've just closed out your CWBRN as "Fixed."

If they could not reproduce and had not written any code to fix it they should have closed it as "Cannot reproduce". If they are closing issues as fixed without cross referencing it with any checked in code they are going about it the wrong way. So I have to assume what they write on face value.

Regardless need to know when the email was sent, and whether it's been tested on a new project with the latest patches. Thanks...

Sorry missed it.
Hmm one would assume it would have been rolled out and tested by now...
I would contact support at this stage quoting this thread:

Fair enough but please remember the problem reporter and these forums are not support. Sorry.

I strongly recommend you reach out to cakewalk via the support channel (link above), if you are lucky they may pick up this thread again but there are no guarantees sorry.

Here is what happens  when I`m using alt + mousewheel . Works as intended , I beleive .
alt+mousewheel

All the best
Jan

Now try the instructions I posted in January for reproducing the problem:

"Open a project, import at least 10 random audio files. Open the Track Manager and hide a few of those imported audio tracks. Now try vertical zooming with Alt+Mousewheel and Ctrl+Up/Down, there goes your vertical zoom issue. Now open the Track Manager and make those hidden tracks visible. Voilà! Vertical zoom issue is gone."

The issue is caused by use of the Track Manager.

Aha , sorry didn't try that until now . Yes Alt+Mousewheel definitely act strange . At first after hiding some tracks
I started to zoom Alt+Mousewheel the top track and it behaved as normal . Then I tried Alt+Mousewheel on the bottom track and I got the same behavior as in Your video .
All the best
Jan

@JPS/MSorrels what version of Sonar? Platinum with latest updates?
Any new posters it's helpful to state version of Sonar in your signature.
Thanks.

This has been submitted on to development (I've updated the thread title accordingly) This is a separate yet similar issue to one that was already reported and resolved. For anybody curious, the easiest recipe to reproduce this is:
  • Start a New Project (Normal template is fine)
  • Import 5-10 audio files into Sonar
  • Go to the Track Manager and hide a few tracks
  • Click the last track in the project to ensure it's selected.
  • Mouse over the track (right-side of the Track View) and hold Alt+mouse scroll wheel to zoom in.
  • Note the behavior is strange as the track zooms all the way in. Try zooming in and out a few times.
  • Try zooming in and out of the last track after selecting other tracks. Behavior is inconsistent.

Thanks Joe

Can the subject title be changed into the format as you write in the handbook guidelines (I don't want to be picky but it just makes life a lot easier to read when going through threads as my eyes read from left to right and look out for square brackets):

Like this:

Would creating a last extra empty track alleviate the issue, any? You wouldn't care if it wouldn't zoom correctly.
Just wondering.........
