[CWBRN-34569] Usability problem with Stretch MIDI Clips

  1. Create a CWP file with multiple tightly integrated MIDI tracks. Each track has one clip.
  2. Set edit filters to Clips.
  3. Select the Timing tool.
  4. Select all tracks.
  5. Position the pointer over the clip's second half and drag to stretch the end.
The operation works, and the user sees the stretch percent. But since it applies to only one track, the tracks are now out of sync. If it applied to all selected tracks, the tracks would stay in sync and the feature would be usable for a multi-track song.

I can reproduce that, but am not sure if it's a bug (just checked the reference guide and found no mention of multi-clip slip-stretching). Let's wait for the status change of your ticket.

Multi-track stretching is the way I think it should work. Without that, the feature is only practical to use in one-track songs.

I don't know if I can explain it well, but I think the Timing Tool isn't designed to allow users to specify a desired stretch percentage. The percentage that temporarily appears in the right corner of the clip is just a resulted percentage calculated from the number of bars, ticks, etc. the user dragged. This means that even if the tool allowed users to time-stretch multiple clips at once, clips of different lengths will only be slip-stretched by the same number of bars, ticks, etc., not by the same percentage.
(As for the practicality, I find the tool practical because I prefer to stretch multiple clips one by one when they are located far away from one another.)

So, as a workaround, I suggest you display all MIDI tracks in the PRV, select the notes you want to stretch, then hold down Ctrl and drag the right edge of the selection to left/right, as shown in the video below that I just captured. Sorry if you already knew this feature.
