CWDXPX!.dll missing message

I get this message "CWDXPX1.dll missing, reinstall program" I installed X1 @2-3 weeks ago and have had various issues from the start. I use win7 x64 and have installed updates 1 & 2. Do I have to reinstall the program like a new install & lose my additional FX/VST's. I didnt have this problem before the updates were installed but wouldnt think a .dll file would just vanish.  8.5 had its issues and I got over them, but X1 seems to make me think about uninstalling & going back to one of the "Home Studio versions"...I've got most of them using the "yearly 99.00 deals" thats sent out every year. This is getting kinda frustrating...

Perhaps you're trying to run the Dreamstation synth under 64-bit X1?

Nope. Looks like a reinstall is in order for the weekend. I talked my drummer buddy into buying X1, so I cant give up that fast, but its still a pisser. I was just hoping this was a "kinda common" problem that someone might have a quick fix for...my luck.

AKAIK only the Dreamstation synth is dependent on that DLL. A complete re-install should not be required. Do a search for it and see if you don't have a copy in another folder. I just checked and I have two copies of it, one in Shared Plugins and another in shared dxi\audio simulation\dreamstation dx2. If you find one but not the other, just copy the file. It does not need to be registered.

I don't see it on a browse of the X1 install discs, unless its imbedded in one of the setup packages.
The copy I have of it is in
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Cakewalk\Shared Plugins

I have had from Sonar 6 to present so it could have been included with any of those.  The date stamp on the file is from Nov 2005.

Maybe check on you 8.0 discs.

After signing out from here last night I tried clicking X1 & I didnt get that particlur message. I did get one about a tom tom sfz file in CW inst, which besides the NI B4, CW inst's is about all I use. I went pass the notifications and everything worked normally. I then ordered the box set, which again pissed me off, I dont like buying downloads and then having to pay for the disk set. Looking at all the cakewalk stuff I've purchased since  @"93-94" I've spent some serious money on this stuff, not to mention 6 guitars & 2 amps & various other items...

I did a partial reinstall using the advanced option which allows you to install the sections/files that you need. That particlur dll file is for 32bit dreamstation and I use x64. No error messages and everything works...so far. Thanks for trying to help guys, by the way, if you'd like to check out some of my previous music either go to my profile page or click this link. See ya next time!
