Using thumbs on a smart phone is a pain.
I'm always balancing whether the intent of my post is understandable vs the difficulty in editing.
If I stop using my thumbs as you suggest i wouldnt be able to post at all.
I wonder why you needed to comment on it and sign off with an angry emoticon!!

I can't log in to the forums any more from my phone. They changed something and it won't accept the verification code when I enter it.

Sorry. I shoulda used a smiley afterward. Ment it in fun.

To answer, it seems future developments at Cakewalk are still under flex so there may not be any webinars in a while or even someone to keep us abreast of things as often as before. Things have been pretty quiet for awhile.

More surprize announcements to come I think.

Oh posting from a phone is such a laugh. Especially when you reply with a "quote message" and you have to deal with the pop-up posting box. On my iPhone, there's like a half second delay between hitting a key and the letter appearing on the screen.

The leaving / retiring of Greg Hendershott this year tipped me off to the fact that there are changes happening at Cakewalk.
I'm still hoping it will be a great year of innovations and improvements for the new software developers, whoever they may be ?

those that have left the cakewalk fold have been from sales/marketing and product management.
Last year there were several ads.for programers. maybe its an indicator that Roland will play a larger part in sales and product management, leaving the programing software to the cakewalk team.
it makes sense to leverage the larger roland machine for it sales and marketing services.
wild speculation perhaps but food for thought and discussion.

That makes much sense Mudgel, unless there are huge financial issues hidden in the curtains. I hope that's not the case.

As for the webinars, perhaps they will move that over to some Sonar experts at Roland - if what you suggest turns out to be true. Whoever is dealing with marketing these days must recognize the huge success the webinars were. Ending the concept would be foolish IMO. So fingers crossed for more of those!

BTW - try puting your phone on the table and use your index fingers to type. It's possible, but not better

as brandon is with roland, i'd expect the webinars to continue, maybe be broader in terms of featuring other roland gear (keys, controllers...) with sonar in more of a "roland solution" kinda way.

The next webinar should be on this forum software and how to install various browsers and add-ins (i.e. IETab).

Just imagine the fun that could be had while participants install new browsers and add-ins live while watching the webinar.

    Exciting times are ahead.

The Webinars are a relatively new thing to Cakewalk. They are the kind of thing that requires a fair amount of time=money, and the direct benefit to sales of extra copies of Sonar etc. are difficult to judge. Bean counters look for costs to cut, and unless they can be convinced (and offer proof to their masters) that the availability of free instructional videos increases sales they do not see the benefit. With the loss of the personnel most closely linked to the Cake TV program, it would appear that the program is not currently a priority.

Maybe we could make a webinar on the refit.... now that could be hilarious. I can just see the perplexed salesman face, as I explain how it's important that my new sink being installed next to my keyboards has the proper acoustic properties..... any volunteer camera operators out there?

I have been reliably informed there is nothing wrong with the forum software.  Perhaps there's something in that, I managed to change my sig at least.

Hey everybody. Thought I'd drop in and offer what info I can.

There will definitely be more webinars. In exactly what form and regarding what specific subject and exactly when they will occur I can't say as of yet. But it's certainly under discussion and it's not something I personally wish at all to abandon (even though it is with extremely heavy heart that they will apparently be without Seth).

Upcoming webinars will likely encompass both Cakewalk and relevant Roland products (like the upcoming STUDIO-CAPTURE). The goal of course being to talk about a wide-range of subjects - gear, techniques, Q&A, etc.

We'll keep you posted. I absolutely appreciate the interest and look forward to seeing you all at the next live event.
