Hmmm "what is Cakewalk Express 6"?
From the help file
"Cakewalk works with your computer and sound card to turn you into a composer, music publisher, and performer, all in one. With Cakewalk, you can easily create music with any instrument, even your voice. Then you can edit and rearrange it, print it, and play it back — all from your PC!"
I use the midi function to 'record' (sequence) songs from my external synths (as well as playing it back). It can also work with audio, but I've never tried that.
My version also included the midi cables - 2 dins to a game port connector (DB-15) which connects to my laptop.
I'm considering an upgrade to a Mac, and would like to use this software...(there are workarounds to 'make it work... supposedly') but the Mac has no DB-15 - just USB ports...

--update--
I've never been able to print with Cakewalk Express 6.
