Cakewalk & Other DAWS on same PC?

Does anyone have experience (the good, bad, ugly) in running multiple DAWS on the same PC?

I'd like to hedge my bets a bit and run Cakewalk by Bandlab to maintain my past 2-3 decades of projects, while also trying out a different DAW just to see how I like it (specifically Studio One which I bought in 2017 with the crossgrade offer, but haven't loaded it yet)

That way I can run in parallel for awhile until I get a better idea where Cakewalk is headed, and which product is going to work best for me in the long run.

Thanks for any insights you have on this!

Works just fine.  I have four on my computer.  I've moved from Splat to Studio One in Summer 2017 and absolutely love it, but I still drop in here from time to time and peek in on Sonar.

I'm using CbB/Sonar and Studio One for project work.  I also have Reaper, Harrison Mixbus and Waveform 8 for experimenting/learning new approaches.  I haven't had any problems with this setup.  I think it's a good idea to learn more than one DAW, you never know when your primary DAW is going to disappear.

I've got Sonar (3 different versions), plus Digital Performer, MixBus32C and Reaper all installed on my DAW PC. They don't interfere with each other at all.

    Hi:)

SPlat, Cakewalk Bandlab, Studio One , Cubase and Reaper coexist peacefully!

Working mainly in SPlat, mastering in S1, for the future I don't know, but Mastering is absolutely great in S1!

Well, since we are on the subject (not specific to SONAR/CbB/Studio One) but I have Reaper and Samplitude also installed with no conflicts.  The only problem I have is the extra audio drivers Reaper in particular (and Samplitude) have installed which also show up in SONAR and CbB.  I see their usefulness, but I don't need them.

    Kind regards,

As other have said there should be no issues. The only thing that has sometimes been an issue is if you change your recording interface settings and then try to go back to a daw with a different setting. This might stall your audio engine.

Sonar Plat, Traction, Reaper, Cakewalk By Bandlab and Studio One all on my PC.

I switched to Studio One recently.  There are things I love about SO, but there are also things I love about Cakewalk.  I will probably end up using both, depending on the workflow I need for a particular project.

That's good news, a wide range of DAWs living together in peace and harmony.

In the past I tried to keep my DAW PC "streamlined" but even so, it's become fairly complex with years of plugins, large VI's, loops, samples, etc.

With Sonar alone, I have the Pro versions of X1, X2, X3 and Platinum all installed, and soon CbB

    Thanks all!
