Cakewalk TTS-1 + sample rates

Hello,

Is it possible to use the Cakewalk TTS-1 and/or Roland Groove soft synth at 24bit 96kHz?

I'll try and be as concise as possible about my problem / confusion / setup.

What I want to do:
Record 24bit 96kHz audio with midi synths (TTS-1) + be able to mix/master/play with the midi tracks with the audio.

My problem:
Playback of the synths at 24/96 is bitty, higher pitched and distorted. Typical sample rate mismatch, i.e. the synth is playing at 44.1kHz or something in that region and my soundcard is configured to 96kHz. 24/96 audio records / playbacks absolutely fine.

My confusion:
I am unsure whether my problem is a software limitation problem or a configuration problem. I have Sonar 6 on Vista x64 bit and was forced to use my Creative Audigy 2 ZS @ 16bit 48kHz. I have just installed an Echo Layla 3G and intent to record at 24bit 96kHz. I heard deleting an ini file (aud.ini or something) may help as it would delete all soundcard preferences becuase I have installed a second card after sonar which may be problematic for sonars preferences as it was configured for the first card. Ideally, sonar would completely ignore the Audigys existence as it is my system soundcard and the Echo is my soundcard for recording / music production. I basically bought a new PC (fairly high spec) and put Vista x64 on it, installed Sonar 6, found my old M-audophile 24/96 was not supported by vista so I recently saved / bought the echo which seems to work fine :).

My setup:
In the audio settings an midi I have disabled the drivers for all the creative / non-echo sound cards.
Audio drivers are is set for AISO (2.0 I think)
Echo is rate locked in the console at 96kHz - works great for audio.
Global settings in Audio data I had to set 24bit there to get that working

What I've tried:
Looking for any more midi / sound card settings - cant find any.
Looking for information about the TTS-1, specifications etc but no luck.

Please help! Thanks in advance.

I have been getting similar results using TTS-1. When I try to use TTS-1 at 96khz on Vista X64, Sonar x64, Edirol FA-66 set to 96khz the soft synth yields distorted audio. The audio plays ok when I use 44.1 or 48khz. Another post under the title "New Sonar 6 user question said that stuartr used a roland keyboard to do his midi synthesis and that worked ok. He said he got garbled results when using the soft synths. I got the same results using the Edirol and onboard Intel Hi-Def Audio. Both the TTS-1 and Roland Soft synths worked fine through the Edirol and Intel sound cards at 44.1 and 48khz. Both soft synths failed at 96khz.

The soft synths work fine on Vista x64, Sonar 6.2.1 x32, 96khz, Edirol FA-66 or Intel Hi Def Audio.
The synths only fail on Sonar 6.2.1 x64 at 96khz regardless of the sound card used.

I can't make the transition to Sonar 6.2.1 x64 until this is corrected because I have 48 projects that are at 96khz. I don't mix down to CD quality, and there is a difference between 96khz and 44.1. The difference can be heard when you track multiple brass instruments and sometimes tight vocal harmonies. I'll admit the difference is probably not audible with a lead and rythm electric guitar, but listen to a section of piccalo's and you will see what I mean.

I'm not sure why there is a problem with the soft synths or if Sonar will ever fix them because the "pro's" track and mix at 44.1 khz.
