Cakewalk V-Studio 20 - OK with Win10/Splat?

It looks like a possible candidate for a controller in a restricted desk real-estate situation like mine.
 
Also, it seems I can use the effects (guitar and vocal) can be used post-recording. The idea of a bunch of studio-ready pro-sounding effects chains is appealing. Always looking to improve my turn-around time.
 
The play-along loops - fixed or can I bring my own?
 
But: Main concern is I hear the 700 has problems with new systems. Would be stupid to get this, only to have it obsolete on arrival.
 
But in general - is it worth it? Anything that you find is particularly stand-out about it?

    Roland did not make a Windows 10 driver but some have figured out a way.

    It looks like a possible candidate for a controller in a restricted desk real-estate situation like mine.

    Outdated as an audio interface (2x2, USB 1, no Win10 signature, quite big latency), almost useless as a control surface (with stock functionality), close to useless as a hardware effect processor since it does not work stand alone and you can not record dry+wet in parallel. Complicated signal routing, without routing preset saving possibility. Advantages? It looks good and it cost close to nothing on e-bay
    EDIT: I forgot to mention another important advantage: it works under Linux, with complete functionality.

    I think your being a little negative to be honest.
    I used one for a couple years. its USB Bus Powered so its very convenient.
     The ASIO drivers were low latency and very playable in my opinion.
    8 faders, 8 REC buttons, Phantom power and onboard buttons to call up BOSS FX.
    A great little control surface/input unit.
