The Neko XXL basically a midi keyboard, a whole computer, and a touchscreen all in one, running Reaper. It also comes with other software and vst's including Dimension LE. So is Cakewalk involved in this in any way? Interesting.

Wow, I'd imagine you could build something close, maybe not in that case, but something close for way less than $6000!!

Looks cool though. I wonder if you could load X1 on it.

    i7 3770k CPU
    32 gigs RAM
    Presonus AudioBox iTwo
Windows 10 64 bit, SONAR PLATINUM 64 bit
Lots of plugins and softsynths and one shot samples, loops
    Gauge ECM-87, MCA SP-1, Alesis AM51
    Presonus Eureka
    Mackie HR824's and matching subwoofer

It is just a computer outfitted as a music station.  It will run SONAR or anything else that runs on a PC.  They also released a lower-priced version that doesn't look as cool but has the same functionality.

It looks like a good turnkey solution, albeit pricey.  But an integrated touchscreen, knobs and buttons, a drum pad and decent computer - that kind of package adds up fast.

Wow, I didn't know it's been out so long.

I wonder if anyone IS running X1 on it?

    That would be cool.

A1 - they are an Austin (TX) company.  They were open labs or something before they went bankrupt.  Not exactly confidence inspiring, but they have been around in one form or another for five or six years, methinks.  The idea is a good one, and I haven't heard any bad things about their products.  It is just so damn expensive.  I think that is the problem w/ their product.  it should be noted that their basic 61 key version is about $3000.  That really isn't bad for a tuned music computer, keyboard, controllers, touchpad screen and bundled software all in one package.  It is just a lot of cash to lay out at once.

NEKO's been around for about 4 years that I know of. The first one I saw was running SONAR 6 I think and was being touted by Cakewalk via their Who's usng SONAR Pages.

Look pretty nifty but more specialised than most users would prefer i'd reckon. Mind you if you're in that niche market it's the best of all worlds, PC, DAW, Keyboard, Control Surface and live instrument and recorder all in one. Whne you look at it in that light the proce starts to seem really reasonable. The tight integration between the hardware and software also ensures a level of stability that would be the envy of anyone who uses all these elements in the more traditional sense of individual components of computer, keyboard instrument, digital recorder, sampler etc.
