Cakewalk just announced the closure of Cakewalk on Facebook

I honestly thought I'd traveled back in time 2 months.

Well I guess I'll not be relying on Facebook for my news from now on.

Well except cat news. I will continue to absorb all of my cat news from Facebook.

Yeah, just saw it.  And the tons of people commenting who apparently had no idea.  The Gibson bashing starts anew.

That awful blue profile picture doesn't represent the Cakewalk I know. It's like going to a page of a different company that has the same name.

In what way? I'm genuinely curious. I think the plan is to bring Sonar back under a new name down the road. In the steel business we used to do this to facilities and we used the term "hot idle". It was just kept simmering on the back burner so we could bring it back when sales picked up. You get rid of everyone but those required to secure the facility. Gibson may be doing this with Sonar.

But as my sig says, I know nothing.

Regards, John

hrrrm...

I have been in too much pain/busy/snowed in/crazy to pay attention to any new updates. Is that like a real thing, ampy or just semi-informed prediction?

Mayhaps all our wild munkey howlin' made the GibbyMeisters take note?

One thing I know which I didn't know before is that Noel is still working for Cakewalk/Gibson I thought he had left.

If I speculate I would be told not to speculate or that I'm a conspiracy theorist Amp.

If somebody else were to speculate then they could say...
"Transition" just means running under Cakewalk Management to running under Gibson management (or creditors!). But that would only be mere speculation..

What happens after that then who knows, and how much will be running is up for grabs as well. But these are mere questions a mere lunatic would ask when writing conspiracy dribble right?

Ultimately it's still up in the air until something actually happens, and also I want my f**king codes that will work until Windows Update kills it.

Also as I said earlier, there are known knowns; there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns – the ones we don't know we don't know.

Well it's approaching mid January. The timing of the announcement was... urm... sketchy at best and deliberately timed for maximum blackout at worst. I really wasn't expecting much movement on this over the past month.

However, now that the holidays are over I am ready to expect some follow up on all this.

I agree, it bears no resemblance to their corporate identity at all.
