Cakewalk sound centre is crying and laughing at the same time
Since I down loaded Kingston and Session pro cakewalk sound centre is not behaving it jams my song and is squealing. I decided to open up a new session with just cakewalk sound centre and it is making the same sound...noticed it says 32bit. Should that make a difference or is there something that I can do to correct this whining. Thank in advance.

I have not tried SC yet, I will when I get a chance.
Rapture Session is a replacement for SC. I will be replacing any instances of SC in my projects. Session is 64 bit, and can access all of SC's content.
People have been asking Cake to release a 64 bit version of SC for a long time. Yet again, Cakewalk have provided a brilliant solution that offers so much more.
I will test SC when I can to see if I get the same problem, though.

Yes, I am having the exact same problem. I noticed a B3 track using CSC was producing squealing and static in a major way. I rolled back to Jamaica Plain and the problem went away. Went back to Kingston and problem returned. Definitely looks like something with Kingston.

I'll bump this thread. Submitted a ticket. I'm having the same squealing issue with some plugins, and rolling back to Jamaica Plain solved them...except now I lost my foot pedal (which works fine outside of Sonar). Clearly there's something systemic that's gone wrong. The CW folks will nail it down. Please. :-D

As is stated in post #2 in this thread, the CSC patches are available in the new Rapture Session. I guess I will just replace the 32bit SC patches with the 64bit Rapture Session patches.

Is CSC discontinued then? If so it would mean manually changing SC to rapture then manually finding the instrument used then manually laying down the parts again. Manually???

Right click replace synth. You don't need to play the parts again do you? Or roll back, and finish your project with this synth. Worth it, you now have a 64 bit plugin to use. At least there is a free upgrade path and no dead end.

Yep I have the same issue, massive static, however, I have never used CSC in a project so I have no issue long term like those that have saved projects employing it. I just loaded it to see if it was doing it to me as well. I also have the good fortune of not buying Rap Pro or Z3ta+ 2 until after installing Kingston so I can't replicate any problems with those either.
So far, with the exception of the scary blue circle appearing for 30-30 seconds when loading some samples in Rap Pro, I am loving Kingston.

Other threads intimate this is happening with other plugs, too. Makes sense. Why should a "bug" (if it is that) break just one specific plug? I am holding off on Kingston until things are clarified.

By the way, Rapture Session is colossal! I ran the download overnight and had to let it continue during the day. Now back at my computer and three files did not download successfully, so I'm re-downloading them now. Each file is between 500MB to 1.1GB. Too much for my poor internet connection.

I agree clarification would be nice. From what I'm am seeing it's an old 32 bit plugin that's probably better off dumped. There have been a few other third party plugins effected also unsure if it is related. Cakewalk have fixed a few things in VST that may have broken some other plugins, so it's up to the third parties to fix it (they probably had workaround code in previously). I don't hold up much hope with this plugin being fixed, and besides there is a much much better solution. So yup clarification rather than speculation on my part (before anybody buts in to point it out, apparently this is an evil thing to do here...).

There seems to be a problem with the VST scanner that's cobbling some peoples systems. When I installed it wiped out my VST 3 plugs and only left 32 bit VST 2 plugs. I've exchanged some email with support and they know something is amiss. I'm sure it will all be clarified after the holiday.

Well I had some VST3 DLL's missing. I noticed the file wasn't in Sonar preferences. Disappeared now fixed. I suspect you have thought of this and double checking the VST file paths in CCC. Cheers...

Thanks, but these were existing plugs and definitely related to the Kingston update. I repeated the install twice, and twice it messed things up. I did manage to recover both times and I'm now running Kingston but not the Rapture plug in that came with Kingston.

Finally had a chance to test it. Loaded an old project with an unfrozen instance of CSC in it (squealing pigs FX), and the whole track screamed/squealed/motorboated. Muted CSC track, and all played fine.

JB thats what I did i'm not sure if cakewalk are suggesting that CSC is obsolete and you have to replace your synth with another sound similar to the one that you had in a track that is if you have been using CSC! Not sure Cake would you like to explain this for us.

Hi Folks, For those of you experiencing this issue, do you have 64 bit Double Precision enabled in Preferences - Audio - Driver settings? If so, does disabling 64 bit DP stop the problem for you? Thanks

Thanks Dan! I disabled the 64 bit Double Precision Engine and the problem went away. The thing is, for me, I am starting to like the Rapture Session synth and think in the future I'll be using that. As far as older projects that have CSC in them, now I know how to get them to work without having to change synths

I have same issue but wanted to try using some of the sound I had in sound center, namely the DSF B3 and they don't load in Rapture or Dim Pro. Should they? They all end in the .prog extension. I can only get them to load / work in sound center.

The prog files are different for all three synths. It is possible to use the samples and sfz files in a CSC expansion pack in DPro and Rapture but you will need to recreate the programs. The new Rapture Pro and Session synths can read the CSC, DPro and Rapture legacy prog files.

Thanks - I repeated this as a separate question in the forum. Thanks though. What is the disadvantage of disabling the 64 DP? I hate having to do these kind of things. Hopefully CW will fix this issue because I do like the perf improvements in Kingston and would prefer not to roll back but I use those B3 sounds a lot
