Cakewalk staff: Please read..
Cakewalk staff: You might want to check the VS-700 forum from time to time as well. For the amount of money we've invested in your products I feel it's very disrespectful (to say the very least) of you not even to respond to anything we write in there.. If your feeling towards us is: "Thanks for the money! Now, get lost!", can you at least say so, so that I can switch DAW and get on with my life...?

I am a little confused. I just took a quick look at the postings in that forum, and it looks like there are responses to many of the more recent postings. If you could please re-post to the threads in question in the VS-700 forum, perhaps CW or others that see this thread could try to assist. Bob Bone

Remember it is a peer to peer forum rather than an official support route. I for one am really appreciative of the input we do get on these forums.

I just saw that Seth from cakewalk actually replied to a post in there not too long ago now. I really appreciate this and hope it wasn't a one-off event :)

We're talking to each other about how we're not getting any response from the official support route about bugs and feature requests for months - even years. Loptec what I mean is just (since they already browse these forums and reply now and then) that it would be nice if they sometimes could reply to the posts in the VS-700 as well. Exactly.

It's important to submit a tech request on all issues you have with the VS-700. While I agree that the software for the VS-700 doesn't change and update with each new version of Sonar, the real reasons for that could be quite a bit more complex than we think. While you'd think that all the updates would run in unison, it's never been that way. Do I want the VS-700 to work flawlessy with each new version of Sonar? Hello, yes! What it takes to do that, I couldn't tell you.

My apologies - I had only scrolled down to see that replies had been posted. After my original rather thoughtless post, I did go into the forum and pick out a couple of posts to look at and ask for additional information. I do see what you mean on the responses, Bob Bone

What it takes to do that, I couldn't tell you. I think it is completely sloppy that cakewalk would release a new version of sonar without updating all control surface dlls. And that is precisely what they do year after year after year. It's like hey, check this out, we are now compatible with control surface brand x. The following release of Sonar completely brakes the control surface and they give it no concern what so ever. To see they do this with their own control surface is completely inexcusable. It should not be released without 100% functionality. Completely ridiculous.

Maybe I'm wrong but I get the feeling cakewalk wasn't like this until the roland takeover...
