Calibrate Fader?

Hello all...

I have a Mackie MCU and running SONAR X1b. One of my faders on the MCU when set to zero (0) reads -17 on the volume control in X1 track view. All the other faders when set to zero (0) read zero in their respective tracks. How do I recalibrate this?

Thank you,

Is this consistent across MCU bank changes or one particular track in Sonar?

Sounds to me like a problem with the MCU do the faders calibrate correctly on startup?

Ah...I've got a problem with one of the faders...looks like it doesn't move the full sweep upon startup. Thanks...I should have noticed that. Bummer...now I've got a fader to replace.

They are relatively easy to replace/fix although a little fiddly. Have a look at this and see if that helps.

Yep, these units aren't made anymore, although the USB version is still made.  I occasionally find one on Ebay for a good price.  Got an MC and two extenders.  One of the XT faders occasionally miscalibrates, but so far a reboot of that XT is all I've needed.  One day I will have to crack the unit open and service that fader.  This blog post will be really helpful when that day comes.
