Calling Chaos Choir Come In Chaos Choir!

Just a few silly questions about Media Monkey that I didn't see the answer easily for on my (brief) examination of their website (I do need to go back).  I'm still gun-shy about trying it out in case it does ANYTHING to disrupt my current iTunes setup.

We all know I'm a geek/nerd whatever, but one thing I've been very anal about is setting up all the tags for every song I've got.  I have a very refined system by now and don't want to lose anything transitioning over (if I go - I'm still fence sitting!).  I've spent MONTHS importing and getting things to look consistent (really).  Anyway, here are the questions if you happen to know the answers!

Question 1:  Is the "Group" tag an iTunes only tag or does MM have something similar?  (I'm ok with starting over with these since I've been reconsidering them for a while anyway - I'm just curious if MM has any extra organizing type tag fields available.)

Question 2:  Can both work together without corrupting the other's stuff?  (I'm mainly asking to see if I can try before making the big commitment.)

Question 3:  Does MM keep a bunch of files all over the place making it hard to backup like iTunes does?

Thanks!

Cool, thanks!  I almost sent you a PM instead but that doesn't add to my post count   doesn't allow others to contaminate the thread  doesn't put the topic out to others that might be interested.

I did a lot of reading about  MM after posting this and it looks like I'll be very happy with the tagging and it CAN do remote streaming (which I currently have an  Airport Express for) so that's all good, but it looks like there's a bit of complaining about version 4 - at least compared to v3.  What version are you using?

Oh yeah, and does MM have a Column Browser like iTunes?  I use that feature A LOT...

(Man this possible transition makes me nervous - All those months of work over the last several years.  I'll have to try it right after I make image backups I guess, just in case...)

    Is MM a cloud application?

Sorry Craig!  Didn't know there was a question there (just returning to add to the main story!).

No, MM isn't a cloud application, however the files can reside just about anywhere including on a network drive.  Plus it has the ability to stream files wirelessly.

Anyway, I just stopped back in to say THANKS! to Chaos Choir for the MediaMonkey suggestion.  I finally feel comfortable enough with MM that I nuked iTunes tonight.  There are definitely a lot of features in MM that I will use that weren't in iTunes.  Plus, the developers tend to listen to their users and add in wishlist items so anything that's not there that would be cool is a possibility!  Nice.
