Can Channel Effects (in the Bin) be Switched To Post Fader?

Hi

I've tried searching for this but can't find anything anywhere. All I can find is something about making effects on a buss be pre or post fader, which I may (hopefully not) have to do.

Can I make an effect (usually just reverb or echo) in the effects bin on each channel be post fader? They seem to be all pre-fader right now. I use a LOT of tracks and each has different effects so it I don't want to have to use dozens of busses if I can avoid it.

Thanks!
Scott

The simple answer is no as is normal in a channel strip.

The fader is the last thing in the chain to feed into the output buss or audio interface output.

Look at the channel strip from top to bottom.

Input to gain to FX bin (to Pro channel) to sends to pan to fader to output.

Send can be set pre or post fader as they do not feed back to a channel but to a buss

FX bin can be set pre or post Pro channel

Also note that you can control the level before the FX bin by using the trim/input_level control.

In order, then, to discover the limit of deepest tones, it is necessary not only to produce very violent agitations in the air but to give these the form of simple pendular vibrations. - Hermann von Helmholtz, predicting the role of the electric bassist in 1877.

And you can control the level anywhere along the ProChannel with an FX chain

There are also some (off the top of my head I can't remember what though!) plug-ins that are simple volume controls that can be automated anywhere - I *think* Sound Forge comes with one (although it's DX, 32 bit of course).
