Can I borrow someone elses family for next Christmas??

We visited my parents and my inlaws... my dad is 95 and my wife made him a big tub of most excellent pimento cheese. My neice got up in the night and ate the WHOLE container, over a pound of it. She said, sorry but it was good. Dad asked for some the next morning and she put some one a few crackers from the cheese and crackers (she ate all the crackers too) she had to carry to her moms house. If that wasn't enough someone, and there was no one but use and her... stole about 40 vicoprofen from my meds. Luckily, I never take my full dosage. I would have refilled at 30 days and had 33 left over... now I will fill at 29 days and be completely out. I am taking less  when I can and dealing with extra pain in case I have a really bad day. The next time I go down I am going to d my best to find a laxative that resembles the pills and set up a trail cam too. I will secure the real deal from now on, I just didn't expect this.
Then a few people at the inlaws got way too drunk... but it was OK except for one persone that started airing other people's dirty laundry.
Sometimes Christmas SUQ... but we are home now and everything is better. The worst thing about family is that they are people... at least it is that way in my family, there are some real jewels, some great people and there are some who are a real POS.

So, if you have a good family we can borrow next year. That would be GREAT... of course, after Christmas, they might kick YOU out of the family, LOL.

I'm not going to do anything or say anything, except to you... my friends. I am going to do something to set her up on the next trip though.. either fake pills or something I can compress into the bag I use that will expand when the bag is opened, maybe tiny helium balloons, maybe those packing peanuts that stick to you and get everywhere... got any ideas? I am open to anything, it really made me sad, I will be OK with the meds but someone stealing from you while saying how much they love you is hurtful.

I always wanted to do the marbles in the medicine cabinet thing at a party... but that would be so mean. Do you know that one? You empty the medicine cabinet in the bathroom. hold thin piece of cardboard up against the cabinet shelves, and pour marbles onto the shelves behind the cardboard, shut the door and slide the cardboard out. Then sooner or later someone will go in the bathroom and decide to look in the medicine cabinet, all the marbles will fall out into the sink making a lot of noise and there is NO way to get them put back. I really couldn't do that though... then again...

This person kicked it up a notch... wow. Marbles

Love the idea (even if that video was obviously staged).  I'll have to try it some day...

How about a very loud recording that says "HEY EVERYBODY!  I'M CHECKOUT OUT THE MEDICINE CABINET!!!"

I'm sorry you had to deal with that stuff jbow. Christmas is the one time of year when you would think people could be more sensitive to others. You know, I'm a firm believer in "what comes around goes around." Your niece didn't get away with anything. It'll come back to haunt her someday.

For years on this very forum, I've offered $1000 in cash to anyone who would take my place at family gatherings during the holidays. I feel your pain.

I would need the $1,000 plus air fare and expenses.

My ex-wife and daughter were supposed to make the main course for her family's Christmas dinner tonight but we just had a wicked storm and their power has been out for days. Guess who just finished cooking dinner for 35 people and sending it out the door? Go on, take a guess.

Nobody has power over us like members of our family. Past and present.
