Can I get some . . .

I know everybody's dying to bust someone's nuts these days(and that's exactly what I need).
Hoping I can borrow your finely tuned ears to pick this puppy apart.
I've been mixing for quite a few hours and I've succumbed to ear mush, unfortunately.

It's a love song, but from the crazy, controlling boyfriend's viewpoint.
The tune is called - With Me

If I didn't know you guys & gals were helping me to become a bit better, no way I'd keep coming back for a beating!
Thanks a lot,

Cant really fault this, the mix is pretty on the ball here, although there are lot more qualified people on here than me. Ill just say that I loved the vocals, the harmony, the effect that was used,  overall giving it a nice warm sound. Good job.

The first couple of notes of harmonies had me guessing, but it all got going well soon after that.  I like the fact that I can hear and understand the lyrics for the most part.  Tune and harmonies and vocals are good.  I'm not sure I'd keep distorted guitars throughout the whole song, but that's just being picky.

Nice job overall.  Sorry I can't be more detailed.

Thanks a lot for the ears.
It was a little better going today.

A different sounding tune.  I like it.  There have been some really innovative tunes up here the last few days.  That's great.  I can't critique the mix or anything because it's so different I'll have to give a few more listens to understand what I'm hearing. :-)  Nicely done.

Bass is indistinct. Get a compressor on it.

Guitars sound muffled. Might wanted to brighten them slightly.

I get what vocal effect you are going for here, but it just misses working well. Too stereo.

    Interesting tune for sure.

(as usual) I've not read anything written by others before I write my crit.

Seems very mid-rangy. Bass guitar needs at least 1db boost (maybe 2db). Kick lacks definition.

The song is great. Singing is great. Guitars are wll played.

The song is too short. I would like to hear about 1:30 more.

    Hello In,

cool snappy popper.  I liked the energy, singing and arrangement.  Nice harmonies.  Agree with Mr.Yoyo about the vocal treatment....too much effect and makes them feel disconnected with the rest of the band.
Fun song, reminds me of how horribly controlling i was to girl friends :)

From the beginning, I would not have double vocals. Use that cool effect only on the chorus and the end.
Separate the instruments more and that will bring out their qualities including the vocals.
I like the song and the content.
It is easy to dance to.

Interesting tune as noted the vocals are a little thin and unfocused also the kick and the bass need more punch.

Part of the trick with mixing is not to rush.  Once you have written, recorded and have a reasonable working arrangement of the song leave it alone for at least a day.  Go listen to some other music give your ears a rest and a chance to recover.  Then get a rough level mix and leave alone for at least a day before going for the final mix and added effects.

    Thanks for sharing.

Like the tune and the vibe. Only listening on lappy so can't say much about the mix other than that the bass is not really coming across. Other than that it sounds pretty decent to me  - I like the vocal fx too.

Like the song, but I would like a bit more low end.

Thanks a lot for the good ideas good people. I really appreciate it.
I'm still so far away from nailing down this mixing thing.
(writing seems to be getting better though, so. . . there's always that)

When it comes to mixing, I can't help but feel I'm in an inflatable raft lost at sea, shooting for the stars with an imaginary pistol!

Again, thanks for the ears. Your ideas are really helpful.
I'll be remixing everything here soon & putting them all to use.
    Peace - Keys,
