Can I remove v8.0?

You have to install v8.0 before 8.5. When finished, two installations appear in Programs and Features. Can I remove 8.0 without affecting 8.5? My guess is Yes because they appear as two different installations. Anyone know?

Thanks - rev

    I wouldn't.

8.5 was an upgrade to 8.0 and was NOT the full product.

You stand to lose FAR more than you could possibly gain by removing 8.0, including a non-working 8.5

That's not the whole truth. You could buy v8.5 as a DVD. I have that one and I've never hads v 8.0

The Foot print of the Core of any version is very small my 8.5 is about 90 meg the majority of the programs additional bits are stored in common directories.  Look at the Cakewalk Directory tree in Program Files and the Cakewalk Content directory that is where the bulk of the stuff goes.

If you are not careful when you uninstall, as Colin noted, you can lose much more that you would think.

I agree with Kalle. Despite the warning from the Knowledge Base, you only have to say 'No to All' when asked if you want to remove a shared component. I had nothing to lose by trying it and I've experienced no problems so far.
