Can I safely uninstall X2

Hi,

I'm not actually a new 2015 member, it's just this is the first time I have logged into the forum for a long time.

I'm running Sonar Plat and need to free up some disc space on my C drive (down to only 38gig free). Can I safely uninstall X2 and X1? I Also have X3e. I am running multiple SSD's and have already moved Dim Pro and Rapture library's. Not much space left on my other SSD's either (dam EWQL library's take up so much space).

Sorry for repeating an oft asked question however I searched the forums and cannot find anything.

Also sorry that my sig field is empty - will get round to updating that a bit later when I have time.

Thanks in advance for any help and suggestions.

You'll only save a few hundred MB by deleting X2. Much of a Sonar installation are shared components.
If you make use of VVocal then you will lose that too as it requires the whole Sonar X2 installation to make it available for use in SPlat.
If you don't have any use for those things also beware that once you've installed a newer version, deleting an older one can compromise shared components. Unless you want to redo the Splat install after uninstalling X2, I'd leave well enough alone. A good time to get rid of older versions is if you have to do a rebuild of your PC.

BTW, welcome back to forums.

If you know your way around your Sonar installations you can delete them but to be sure everything is intact I would install Splat again when finished. For the cost of hard drive space though, like I said, is it worth it.

If "Cakewalk Content" is still on the C: drive and you have not already done so, go through each version in Cakewalk Content and delete the "Tutorial Projects" folders. This will free up over 800MB per folder.

FWIW, I took a look at X3 file usage recently http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3179366. The rest of the X series is similar
