Can I sell the Guitar Rig 4 download that I purchased from Cakewalk?

For being a Sonar 8.5 customer, Cakewalk sent me an email (on 11/11/09) about the Elite Packs which I could get at a really low price.  One of the Elite Packs was Guitar Rig 4 from Native Instruments for $99. I purchased this but now I own NI's Komplete 6 which includes GR4.

So my question is can I sell the GR4 that I purchased from Cakewalk?

You can sell the Empire state building. If you own it, It's yours., you paid for it, Sell it, If it's on a seperate disk. If it was combined in a package you might have a problem.

It was a download from Cakewalk. What I want to know is if I can transfer the serial number to the buyer. Most full verion software from NI can be transfered as long as you unregister it from them so the new owner can register it to use it. But since I purchased this through Cakewalk, I'm not sure if I can transfer it.

I don't think you can. Run the install program and when it asks you to agree with the License Agreement, read it, then cancel out of the installation.

Ok, just did this, still confused about it. I didn't see anything about my specific situation.

I would either call or write an email to cakewalk and see if it could be possible to sell.

There was a court case in Boston years ago that says bundled software can be sold so at the very least it is legal, but going from there to actually getting NI to support it might be a long trip.

The Guitar Rig 4 download is nothing to do with Cakewalk. It's from Native Instruments. You contact them so they can remove the serial number and the new buyer can then register it.

PS: Do check that downloads can be re-sold because they changed the rules last year. Old downloads can certainly be sold.

    +1 to above...

ask NI....as long as they will transfer your license to the new owner in their system then go ahead.
