Can X1 and PT9 co-exist on the same DAW?

Only reason I ask is because I teach a class every fall on MIDI and will eventually need to upgrade to Pro Tools 9 as part of the lessons. In the past I've run SONAR and Reason, but had to switch to a different computer because PT was so picky about interfaces.

    I've got PT 9 and 8.5.3 on the same machines, both a desk top unit and a laptop without any issues.  But I am still waiting to see how X1 goes before upgrading.  As a matter of fact, that is why I have PT 9.  That and 8.5.3 make for a nice complement.

    Thanks, I spend about 4 weeks in SONAR, 4 weeks in Reason, and 4 Weeks on Pro Tools with the class, but the version the studio had was 7, and SONAR cleaned its clock on MIDI...event the students said that. I'm anxious to see how they like X1

    I run them both with no problems on my DAW.

    The can exist on the same DAW but they constantly gossip and make insinuating comments to all the other programs. I also hear one of them has a drinking problem.

    As ...wicked says, and, further: I recently had a Cubase LE shortcut show up on my desktop. Now, I'm not saying it was SONAR and PT, but...

    I have PT9, 8.5.3, and X1 all (mostly) happily co-existing. There is sometimes a problem going from the SONAR x64 bit versions to ProTools, but if I let the computer have a moment to relax when going back and forth, I don't have a problem. However, as PT8 had a USB interface, I was able to run both PT8 and SONAR simultaneously, but I haven't tried that with PT9 and SONAR through my PCIe MOTU.
