Can a fresh install of X1 be done with the downloaded version?

I want to know if a fresh install of X1 can be done with the downloaded version without having Sonar previously installed.

    Yes -

    That's how I installed my X1 on a fresh Windows 7 installation.

No issues with the install -
Just make sure you have all your X1 available before starting.

So this even includes the full version of Dimension Pro a part of the download?  I remember DP being about 7-8 gigs so that means the rest of Sonar and extras are only another 7.5 gigs.

As long as the download version is identical with the disk version, I'm willing to take that upgrade path.

But I do remember that you needed 8.3 already installed to get to 8.5 with its download.  So why the difference with X1?

Every version of Sonar has been an independent install, with the exception of 8.5.
Can't answer "So this even includes the full version of Dimension Pro" as I ended up
    installing X1 from disc.
So truly, "why the difference with X1", really should be "why the diff with 8.5?"
    And there were reasons.
Wouldn't an X1c that bundled all the patches, quick fixes, etc., be a BOLD move?
