Can anyone use "extant" in an existing way that makes sense?

Sting, when he isn't saving the rain forest, likes to have sex, tantric sex. Do I win one of Ben's degrees?

Beagles numerical superiority that exists between Bapu's post count and his own is still extant despite them both breaking through significant milestone figures recently. Not that it matters.... (to Beagle that is )
