Can i sample...

You guys!! I am actually asking if any of you guys are willing to give me some rights to sample some of you songs? I'm looking for vocals, solo instruments and kinda big orchestral stuff mostly. (which basically covers everything :D ) Basically I wanna stay away from any copyright infringement, as well as having a greater chance to hear you guys' stuff!

Truthfully, Dave, if you feel that any of my stuff is worthy of being sampled, I would be honored.

soundcloud has the option for Creative Commons usage.  I'd check there.  I'm sure many people clicked that.  It just means you can use other's recordings, but you can't make money off it.

Check out sites like http://www.freesound.org and https://archive.org/details/audio both of which have downloadable audio samples with Creative Commons licenses (among other license types).

Well, I actually think I have lots of access to solo instruments and sound FX… at this point I wanna see how I'd do mixing elements of someone else's song (e.g. choruses, instruments/solos) right into some of my own projects.

(Also, any idea where to find other free music with license to sample?)

If it's just for the purposes of learning and practice, I would go ahead and sample whatever commercial music you like. As long as you're not releasing it commercially, no one will ever know.

hey David I bought this set of sounds th other day for a small amount $8 in fact. Just came across this in the Presonus forum.

    https://sellfy.com/p/n1i6/

You get to download a 670 meg rar file which when extracted ends up being 1.1G. There are some really great sounds in there which would keep you busy building the percussive elements of some great beats etc for years to some. Great raw materials to work with. Infinite ways of cutting them about and putting chunks of audio arranged in interesting ways over a grid to form grooves and beats etc..

These cheap but extensive libraries are good value for money I believe.

    Specs i5-2500K 3.5 Ghz - 8 Gb RAM - Win 7 64 bit - ATI Radeon HD6900 Series - RME PCI HDSP9632 - Steinberg Midex 8 Midi interface - Faderport 8- Studio One V4 - iMac 2.5Ghz Core i5 - Sierra 10.12.6 - Focusrite Clarett thunderbolt interface
