Can not open CWP files

Hello all,

Ive just deleted an old version 3.0 from my computer. U have been working fine with 8.5 until now. The program 8.5 now does not recognized the CWP files. The CWP files do not look normal and when clicked on the system asks me to associate them with a program. However the SONR/CAKEWALK option doesnt work. Any suggestions on how to associate CWP files with ver 8.5?

Use Windows Explorer, right click on the project file, click on Open With and set it to SONARPDR.EXE.

Thanks Dave,

Ive tried that previously and it didnt work. When selecting the program to associate the file I select SONARPDR but it doesnt work. Is there another way?

Did you delete it or uninstall it? If you deleted it, you may have deleted folders that the newer verison needs. You should restore what you deleted and then uninstall it properly.

And there is no reason to delete older versions of Sonar. Some folks here say the have every version installed and from time to time use them. They come in handy for testing older projects etc. I have both 7/ 32 bit and 8.5/ 64 bit installed. I still have the demo of X1 installed but it timed out so won't open till I cough up the dough.
