Can someone create a decent alternative forum that has the same layout as this one

Ive checked out both of those alternative forums, beyond cakewalk and the mods one, ....ahhh...looks messy...confusing.....if this forum doesn't stay up I hope an alternative forum is created that is as well layed out as this one.

Windows 10, 64 bit, intel core i7-6500U CPU @ 2.50GHZ  2.59GHZ......12 gig ram ....Sonar lifetime updates, presonus audiobox 1818 interface, and beringer UFX1604 mixer interface/control surface...... All round musician, multi-instrumentalist/songwriter.....attempting to produce good music.....started on music creator 6 2014, bought sonar 2015....and now invested in lifetime updates......Learning always!!!!Thanx cakewalk and online forum

Maybe you should create one to your liking. I think it's extremely nice of those folks to create a place for us to go.

The forum software here is made by ASP Playground. It's not free and AFAIK runs on Windows servers, which cost more than Linux servers - my point being that if you want a forum that looks and works just like this one, it's going to come at a price.

By comparison, the beyondcakewalk forum uses MyBB software and sonarmods uses Simple Machines software - both of these are free forum software and probably running on low-cost Linux servers, so those forums are less expensive to run than this forum. Additionally, if enough people requested it those other forums could change themes and try to look more like this forum, but that's up to the individual forum owners.

This is kind of like people trying new DAW's and claiming that they can't make head nor tail of the GUI before they've given their eyes time to adjust. I've been on the BeyondCakewalk forum a few times and it now looks totally fine to me.

Fair enough, I was just putting it out there, I didn't really know whats involved with creating a forum......it is great that they've done it, I guess, once this website does completely go down, then everyone will flock over to the alternative

beyondcakewalk.com (if you are a registered user) currently has 6 alternative themes. Some are gaudy and some are subtle on the eyes. Yes the default is a bit "bright". And I'm currenty conducting a poll as to what theme users are using.

Plan B offers themes too.

Frankly I think the default theme is the only acceptable one! I quite like the dark one (Lunorian) but it clashes with the logo.

Maybe Bapu and Panu can change their forums so the "Go To Last Read" post, the jump down to the Quick Reply window when you quote something, bringing up the forums around 9pm PST, and going to last post in a thread all don't work.  Then it will really start to feel like this place!

To many people were hitting on me with the old one . . . you know how it is, you can't have looks like that and expect to be left alone I guess.

I made the mistake of posting a full, if not somewhat 'risque' picture of myself in a thread, and it was all old (young) Kenny (kennywtelejazz) could do to keep himself from trying to jump through the monitor to get himself a piece of this here Matron. Well who could blame him?

This is kind of like people trying new DAW's and claiming that they can't make head nor tail of the GUI before they've given their eyes time to adjust. I've been on the BeyondCakewalk forum a few times and it now looks totally fine to me.

Or, your car is dying (shutter and shakes but runs) and you go to test drive a new car and you say "this new car doesn't drive like my old one".

I'm not hosting it perse. It's a on a paid hosting service. I chose the lowest cost solution.

Occasionally users (and I) see a Resource Limit Reached error but it typically bounces right back into action using the browser button.

AFAIK no one has cited lockups yet.

Because of the Resource Limit Reached messages I am looking into a VPS (Virtual Private Server) to move the forum over to. I expect that to be completed in January 2018.

In the meantime maybe Plan B will suit your needs?

I've had no hangs or freezes on it. Page load speed is variable but usually pretty fast - I get the same thing on Cake's forums. Sometimes instantaneous, sometimes a little delay.
