Can someone help? Issues with Input...

Hello, Im new to this program and I'am running into a problem that wont let me progress with a new song im working on. Info: I am running Sonar 8 and using a Tascam US-1800 Audio Interface.... My problem is when I go to the audio track properties to set the input to Stereo 9 it no longer says Left 9,right 9, or stereo 9....It says 9/10 on each one. So I figured I would just choose stereo 9/10. My problem is that it dosent pick up any signal from input 9 which is the input my guitar is plugged into. I've tried using my mic on input 1(which is now 1/2) but there was no signal as well. Thanks for reading and sorry if my lack of terminology in this new world of producing and mixing makes it hard to understand me....

The vendor software is the most likely place to look. I'll bet the Tascam came with an accessory software application?

If so, you might have to choose 'Stereo' in the accessory software (most likely by clicking a button) for a particular pair of inputs. Those two inputs are then chained together and work as a stereo pair. Then you have to set the pan to dead center giving you equal input on L and R.

Also, make sure you don't have both inputs panned the same way somewhere else. If you have both panned hard L without realizing it, you'd only get signal from one side.

Check settings on your MIDI Controller if you're using one, in any accessory software that comes with the audio interface, and in the Sonar track input pan.

I'm reluctant to respond to a post that the OP has not replied to.
revnice1 there is no mixer software for tascam.

    Basic trouble shooting 101

Disable your onboard sound card to eliminate conflicts.

Install the latest ASIO drivers from the Tascam web site -double check they are the ones for your OS and 64 bit ( or 32 bit if your XP )

Follow the instructions, you have to turn on ( or plug in the USB )  the Tascam after the drivers install when asked to do so.

Go to your control panel and make sure the Tascam is you audio
     device.

Open Sonar and go to audio option and check the Tascam is in ASIO mode. Look under the driver tab and see if all the in/outs have a check mark

Now they should show the proper in/ out list. The list is weird as it does not show evn numbers, input 2 is Right mike 1 and so on.

You don;t use a stereo input for guitar, its mono so use a right or left

    Left us1800 mike in 1
Right us 1800 mike in 1
    Stereo us1800 mike in 1
