Can someone help me?

Btw  I've returned to Sonar (sort of).  Can someone tell me how to deal with the comb filtering on the solo violin?  It starts about 1:40 if you want to skip forward.  It comb filters throughout.

I'm not Bapu. Although in my humble opinion perhaps too much compression is being applied to the violin forcing the quieter resonant string sounds (bow scrapes) to be more audible and compressor threshold is hitting that part of the sound too hard.

Until he answers.......it's the best I can offer.

Thanks interpolated.  While I don't have compression on the solo violin in *the daw*,  there might be some coming from play.  I'll double check.  Great thought, thanks!

this is ridiculous.  you're the only one who cares and you really should stop throwing that card on the table.

as for your problem with comb filtering - how did it get there?  if you recorded it in by using 2 mics not aligned correctly then the solution is to re-record correctly.  if it got there by you cloning and time shifting the track, then don't do that.  use mono or record with correctly spaced/angled mics.  time shifting a cloned track is a mistake a lot of people try to use to "fatten" a track, but what it does is add comb filtering and sounds bad.

if these aren't the reasons the comb filtering exists, then the only way to remove it is to figure out how it got there and fix the source.  you cannot fix it with plugins.

It's east west solo violin.  I think it has something to do with the frequencies that are playing in the background.  Maybe it should be looked at with a spectral analyser.  Thank you for the kind words beagle.

Solo Violin if you are referring to the original release and not the Hollywood Solo Strings then I would look for an alternative. It's not very intuitive and recorded as well as some of their other libraries. I tried using it and the results are poor in comparison.

Sometimes you just want to play your keyboard without worrying about poor programming or faults Nick couldn't be bothered to fix.

Yep! Agreed, it's probably a flaw in the samples. Try a different library.
