Can we install AD2 and Melodyne on more than one machine?
Hi Gang...
Just wondering...
Over the last few days I've installed SPlat on my new little laptop as I only have electric for my DAW a few hours each evening...
All is well... But I avoided trying to install AD2 and Melodyne as I was unsure what might occur...
I was able to install Amplitube 3 free with all my purchases as IK's system allows a number of authorizations...
Can anyone tell me if I can do this with these other major components? I can survive without them for new work as I'm very happy with Session Drummer 3 and V-Vocal, but for project continuity with projects already using these tools, I'm curios...
Thanks... Keni

you can have either one activated on 2 machines I think Melodyne you can deauthorize on one DAW if you need it on another later ... don't know about AD2 ...

Mesh Yes Keni, you can install AD2 on 2 active computers with one license. http://www.xlnaudio.com/knowledge-base/#authorization
Thanks Mesh... I'm gonna check the link you supplied... [edit] I just read through the link/page and couldn't find info regarding the number of installs/authorizations one can have... What/where am I missing it? I did find other helpful and interesting info though... ;-) [end edit] Keni

Thanks Mesh...
I found it...
I noticed it also says we can add our AD1 kits to it as well as run AD1/AD2 side by side...
Is there somewhere online that makes the AD1 kits a download or is there a way to move them into AD2? (Ha! Sure...)
Or did I misunderstand this point. I know it talks about the sidebyside running so that older projects will laid correctly with AD1 where necessary, but I thought I resd about older kits being available in AD2?
Thanks again... Keni

AD1 uses the same XLN installer. There is an upgrade fee to get AD1 data in AD2.

Thanks scook... I remember reading that when SPlat was first released... But the wording in the info re:the above posted link made me think maybe I misuderstood... I guess not. Not a big deal for me... I did see that they are both included in the same installer back when I installed AD2... As well as AK... Thanks again... Keni

About Melodyne. They especially mention that you can activate/deactivate it on any computers when required: From http://helpcenter.celemony.com/editor2/en/singletrack_tour_00.html :Deactivating a computer: We allow you complete control over the allocation of your activation rights by allowing you the option also of deactivating computers. Suppose, for example, that you have already activated Melodyne on two computers but wish to use a third one temporarily. No problem: all you have to do is deactivate one of the computers currently activated. This will free up one activation credit, which will then be transferred to our server. You can use this then to activate the third computer. If, later, you wish to go back to your original pairing, just deactivate the third computer and reactivate the one you deactivated earlier. For XLN I have not found such explicit statement, and there are cases when reactivation of computer which was active before is problematic (Pianoteq). So I have asked XLN about that. It happens that it works close to the same way as with Melodyne. You can reactivate the computer you deactivated before (I need at least 2 activations at home and want activate notebook instead when I travel).

Hey, thanks for sharing. That's good to know as we all seem to have travelling rigs these days of various scales.
