Can't Find Plugin

I'm using Sonar X1 Producer and just bought Waves GTR3. I can bring it up as a stand alone but it doesn't show up in my FX plugins in Sonar. Any idea how I can get it to  show up in the list?

Stating the obvious, first... ensure you ran the license center authorization for the Waves plugins you installed.  But, you also may need to tell Sonar to rescan your plugins.  Best way at this point would be to open the "manage plugin layouts" from preferences.  That way you can be sure that the path where your Waves plugin(s) installed are included in Sonar's list of directories to scan.  If not, add it/them, then scan all.  Hope this helps.

Thanks for the advice, I found that the waves effect wasn't in the right folder so I moved it. Now when I start up sonar, I see the waves GTR3.5 scanning all of it's components, but at a certain point it stops and I see a window that says 'select waves 9.3 plugins folder'. When I try to find it, it won't let me go any further, and if I press cancel, the effect still isn't in the list.

Waves has a different way of installing plug-ins that uses a Waveshell file. It's not just a question of dragging a DLL somewhere. Their tech support is excellent and efficient. A few minutes with them, and I'm sure they can get your issue sorted out.

Not to try to sound smarter than Craig Anderton (as if) but when managing plugin layouts you typically want to simply add (include) the directory where your plugins are installed, and NOT move the plugins to another directory.  That's likely the reason the waveshell is confused.  Like CA said, all the waves plugins you have are under its control.  So, let waves install where they will and just make sure you include that location in your layout configuration for Sonar so it knows to scan the waves plugins, too.
