Can't change installer locations?
Hi, New potential user here. I'm trying to install the X2 demo, I go through the install, agree to the licence terms and get presented with... At no point do I get the option to choose Setup type or choose where I want everything installed (eg. I want the vst's in D:\users\user\VSTs\X64\Cakewalk). Am I doing something wrong or are the options to choose setup type locked in the demo? Please don't tell me the full version is similarly crippled.

I don't remember not being able to set these filepaths when I installed the X2 trial. I guess I could be wrong about this though.

Ok, thanks for that. I've decided not to bother with Sonar, seems lot's of people have been having issues and my initial experience hasn't been good.

Bristol_Jonesey Well, you might get more help if you were to post in the correct forum. This section is for 8.5 & earlier. The X series is discussed in the forum above ^^^
I thought "get started" was the appropriate forum as my question is certainly about getting started. Thanks for your friendly and helpful reply though.

I thought the same and totally revamped my post after consideration.

Not sure now, been a while since I installed, but I was able to change the path exactly like you want it. If from the screen you are at you go 'back' and if it has a box with the paths in it but no 'browse' or 'change' button, you might be able to highlight the drive letter only and change it that way.
But I think it has more to do with your first install screen where it has an advanced or custom setting you want to use instead of automatic.
I am sure that what you want to do is completely possible and also am sure there are people here that know more than I do that can step you through it easier.
It is well worth the effort.
