Can't find SoftTube

Sonar X1 Expanded and if I right click to insert a new module in the proChannel, it is not there.  I only have the cake compressor and the expGate.

Is it possible that I didn't install it?  Hmmm, I followed the install instructions and thought this came with X1 Expanded.

Yes, but its called Saturation Knob. Right click in the ProChannel Strip, select Insert Module and select Saturation Knob.

Its not a VST so a scan wouldn't help.  '

EDIT: Correction... it is a VST so a scan would help.

I purchased the PC4K S Type Expander Gate Module thinking it was for the PC and wouldn't need to scan it. It didn't show up as an Insert until I did a VST scan.

They are VSTs. I thought not too. CW has confirmed they are VSTs. So one needs to scan to make them show up. Also CW has improved the scanning to the point one can have it on for start up without incurring any delay.

So set scan for VSTs on startup and it wont be a problem.

    Hey All,
My SofTube Sat Knob is only coming up as an audio FX option for the buss(Master, Preview, etc.) FX modules.  When I installed X1Expanded following the detailed instructions, Sat Knob.dll installed (as I recall by default)to C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Shared Utilities\Internal\Softube  &  C:\Program Files (x86)\Cakewalk\Shared Utilities\Internal\Softube folders.
I have run the Plugin Manager VST scanner several times with no change, that is, it's not available in any audio track.  The recently purchased PC4K S-Type Comp & PC4K Gate/Exp modules installed to the same folder with no problems (they show up & are available as plugins for the audio tracks.
Is 1- the Sat Knob installed to the correct folder, maybe the reason it's not available as a PC module?
2- do I need to manually reinstall or move (carefully!) the Sat Knob folder to the VST Plugin folder & rescan?
I always use Administrator access if that matters.
Any other option I haven't thought off?  Any help appreciated.
    Thanx, HeyDan

    To the OP:

Softube's only default plugin is the Saturation Knob which comes as part of PC in Expanded.

The softube Bundle was available at a specially reduced price for a time as an addon for X1 Expanded but that offer has since expired.

The saturation knob is only accessible via the ProChannel interface. Right click anywhere in the PC window to open up the selections. It is not available as an fx insert on any channel or buss.

Did you correctly folllow the procedure when updating to X1D. There was a step in there that required the deletion of the Saturation Knob dll as it was updated with the X1D Expanded update patch. If that was something you had to do then maybe reviewing that whole procedure will yield some positive results for you.

BTW. Its best to start your own thread with your own question so things can get tracked properly.

Looks like I need to turn on email notifications, sorry guys.  Thanks for the responses.

OK I'm not seeing it in C:\Program Files\cakewalk\Shared Utilities\Internal so I reinstalled D patch.  Saw saturation knob dll flash as it was installed. Still not showing up.  Now I just gotta find where it went! I am on 64 bit so no it isn't in x86 either.  Hmmm.

My VST path is C:\Program Files\cakewalk\vstplugins

EDIT:  FOUND IT!  I was installing straight to C:\  Thanks for the help :)
