Can't install Sonar 2 on Windows 7

I've been using Sonar 2 on XP, for a long time, and just got a new computer with W7.
I have tried installing S2, the disc opens the installaiton box, i click on install English version.  Windows asks me if i trust the publisher (or to that effect).  I click yes, and then nothing.

I tried also in the "compatability" mode, and it is identified as an XP program, but again nothing happens after clicking on the trust the publisher window.

Any ideas?
If i can't sort this problem and have to buy an more recent copy of Sonar, i take it that all my old Sonar 2 projects and bundles will load ok into the newer versions?

Yes they should with little or no problem other than if SONAR 2 has some FXx or VSTs that are no longer in the new SONAR. That happens from release to release.

Uh, no.  When you went from XP to W7 paths to various things will have changed.  I have yet to open a single project created when I was using XP that didn't have a series of problems with things not being loaded or working like it did.  Often these problems were serious to the point I simply don't have the time to re-create many old projects.  To be fair, I'll caveat the above statement with the admission that I went from X1 XP 32 bit to X3 Win7 64 bit.

I am "Five Foot Wall" on Spotify, Deezer, etc.  Platinum, Windows 7 64bit, AMD FX-6100 hex-core @3.8ghz, 8 gig ram (never use more than 5 gigs), Delta 44, UM-2

TC99 dude:  Did you try Run As Administrator?

    +1
Permissions on Win 7 are a lot different than XP

Find the installer application. Right click on the name to highlight it and in the dropdown menu choose "run as administrator." That is not the same as installing it from an account that is a member of the administrators group or from an account you have named administrator.
