Can't print score / staff view

Am using Sonar X1 LE, but can't print in staff view. The help docs I'd read (like the one linked below) said I can't print if floating is enabled, but I can't tell how to enable/disable floating (don't see the staff icon, and don't see floating options below Minimize, Maximize, Close). And if that's not problem, what else can it be? Thanks

If the Staff view is in the MultiDock, right-click its tab and choose Undock. That will put the Staff view in a separate window and you should be able to click on the upper-left corner of the window as shown in the article via that link you posted.

There was a bug that stopped printing from those views but it has since been fixed.

To enable floating first set the window size at anything other than maximised then click on the very top left corner. You should then see the Windows menu which has enable floating as an option.

Thanks Scott - I tried that, but even undocked, the only options on the upper left are Move Size Minimize Maximize and Close.

And thanks FBB - Also tried that, and get only the same options.

Wish I could show you screenshots. Really appreciate your help.

After undocking you may still need to go to the box on the top left in the blue upper bar and select disable floating, then enable floating again.

Thanks lorneyb2 - tried that, and now I see a Next option in addition to Restore etc, but still no floating options.

The blue bar I am referring to is on the floating Staff view.  It sounds like you are looking at the Main top blue bar.  If you still have it in multidock, then right click in the box at the bottom that says Staff - (track name(or multiple tracks)) and select undock.  then on the blue bar of the staff view at the far left follow instructions above.

Thanks, I tried that too. That blue bar has an icon in the upper left, then "filename.cwp - Multidock", right? Under that it says "Staff - Multiple tracks".  No floating options though ... just Move, Size etc.

Ok I think I've got it. I think you have the window maximised. In that state the floating options aren't there, just as you've described.

Try resizing the window to anything other than maximised and they should then be there.

    Good catch there FBB.

The box then actually sits on the next line down next to File - View etc. but the floating/docking options are then greyed out.

Thanks Karl. Tried that, same thing. But this time, I do have screenshots: https://picasaweb.google....QE&feat=directlink including one showing Sonar not maximized, Staff view undocked, but still no floating options in either of the Sonar windows.

That's what I was a afraid of, which would suck, esp since that wasn't disclosed in any doc I read. Thanks anyway.

Hi guys - After some time with the good folks at Tech Support yesterday, turns out that Sonar X1 LE has a bug that was fixed in the full version, but not in LE. No dates planned for the LE fix. So I upgraded to Essentials, and can now print. Thanks again for all your help; Leo

Bizarrely enough that was the only bug in X1 that actually stopped me doing something I wanted, meaning that I couldn't find a work round at all. Glad you're sorted anyway
