Can't unfreeze synth after import.

I have recently upgraded from X1 Producer to X2 Producer, and on the very first X1 project that I pulled up, I can't unfreeze two of the synths.  I am only using three:  Two Dimension Pros and a Garritan multi-vst.  The one Dimension Pro that I can unfreeze is a single channel pan flute.  The second Dimension Pro is a single channel piano, and it will sort of unfreeze, in that the audio file goes away, but I still can't access the synth itself when I double click on it.  The Garritan synth just spins and spins and then X2 locks up and refuses to respond.  Any ideas?

Could you reload the synths into the rack?

I suppose I could reload the synths, but the problem is that while they are frozen, I can not access them to duplicate the various settings made on the synths themselves, so if I reloaded the synths I would mostly have no idea what the original settings were.  Also, after thinking about it, my X1 install was 32-bit, and my X2 is 64.  That will probably be a problem as well.
