Cannot Drag and Drop ImPoscar banks and patches onto the VST GUI

Hi All,

When using Sonar 5 I was able to drag and drop patches and banks onto the ImpOscar I VST GUI. It is the ONLY way to change banks and programs. With the new Sonar Platinum I can no longer do this so I have lost access to hundreds of sounds.

I am sure someone will suggest running Sonar as Administrator; DONE. I cannot load patches from within Sonar browser as they do not display when navigating to the preset folders. Consequently, the only way it seems I can do this is by opening an external File Explorer and trying to drag and drop from the explorer window. However, this too does not work.

I am running Windows 10.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Best regards,

Do you have the same issue when not running as administrator? I wonder if what you experience is related to this.

I do not have the original ImpOSCar and ImpOSCar 2 has its own built in browser. If the original uses regular VST fxp and fxb files those can be loaded using the VST2 dropdown in the standard header supplied by SONAR.

Thank you for the suggestion. It was, in fact, caused by running as Administrator. I know I had set that due to some other issue that implied that you should run the application as Administrator. I found that odd as most of the times you never want to run an application with that level of permissions. In a previous post someone could not drop Midi files and the suggestion/answer was run as Admin. I suspect the issue is that the File Browser (not started as Admin) could not have permissions to write to the app that was running in Admin control.

As far as using the Built in patch and bank browser, that did not work and does not work on numerous plugins. The plugin has to be written to support this. I have never been able to get the Sonar Patch browser to work with ImPOSTer.

Thanks Again!

FYI one more thing about the admin issue...I think you can diddle around with UAC to solve the issue, then restore it to how you had it set before.
