Cannot Get MIDI Data to Kontakt 4

For starters, I apologize for my ignorance. The last time I played around with all this MIDI stuff about 15 years ago. Back then, all Synth Modules were hardware (MT-32...). I loaded NI Kontakt 4 and I'm running the Demo Version of Cakewalk 8. My keyboard will play Kontakt instruments, but Cakewalk will not. I'm using a NI Audio Kontrol 1 interface. BTW, I have the same problem when running Master Tracks Pro. This is looking like a Kontakt MIDI issue, but for the life of me, I can't figure it out. Thanks for your patience for this newbie!
