Cannot PM? Solved, thanks John et al

I am not sure where to post this so moderators please move or discard at will :)
 
From what I see my PMs go nowhere although I can receive and then reply to a PM.
 
When I send a PM, it says successfully sent but then will not show up in the Sent folder.
 
I also get no replies from PMs but maybe I am universally blocked.

    I don't think sent messages are saved by default. Not sure though! Send me one.

    you have to edit your profile in "Feature Preferences" - Check the "Always save sent PM".
