Cannot change or set the MIDI hardware controller in a Midi track
I tried searching around for this answer but I wasn't finding anything and am frustrated. I have a project that I don't get to work on much because of time constraints. Last night I open it up to work on it and went to add a new Midi track and wanted to use a sound on my Kurzweil PC3.
In order to send a program change I have to set the Midi track to send the program change in the same format as the controller is setup to use. I used to know all the lingo but the older I get the less time I have to keep up with the tech lingo and the less time I have to actually be creative.
I set the Midi in and outs to point to PC3 Omni then went to change the controller value to 32. I kept hitting the field I normally hit and it won't do anything. Used to pop up with an option for Normal, 100, or 32 if I remember right.
The original Midi tracks are still set to use Controller 32 for my original PC3 Midi tracks and they send the sounds to the PC3 but I can't change the controller on them, even though I don't want to or set up a new file.
So last night I figured it had to be an update I applied so I downloaded the latest Sonar Update via Command Center hoping that would fix it but it didn't. It is not just the midi tracks for the PC3, it is for any midi track.
How do I set the hardware midi controllers? I am beyond frustrated. Used to be back in the old days I got so much more done with an Ensoniq ESQ-1 and a cheap-o roland drum machine and my wavestation though recording audio was a pain.

The red circle is where I would normally set the hardware controller type for Program changes
I am running a fully patched Windows 10 intel i5 pc.
The PC3 comes in on it's own USB port direct into the pc and I even tried moving that around.
Please help, if you need more info let me know, again I am an old dude who might need some help with proper terms.
Thanks!
Steve
