Cannot get Sonar to even run!!

Just got Sonar Platinum---then I find out Cakewalk is Closing.
I start my first project and Sonar keeps stopping every minute or so. Now it opens, but won't do anything at all. Windows just tells me the program has stopped working, but will not give any reason, so I don't know what to fix-----
I haven't used Sonar in a while, but was looking forward to revisiting older projects. I first started using Cakewalk Professional in the 1980s. I have 30 years of Cakewalk project files. Is there any converter that will allow me to move them to any other DAW?
I know it's two different questions, but this is a blow to the gut for me personally
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi - can you please provide details on your system, such as OS version, memory, whether or not you have antivirus software running while you execute Sonar, sample rate in Sonar, sample rate of your audio interface, type of audio interface, IF a USB connection for interface, is it USB 2 or is it USB 3, etc..?

Are you getting into a project, or is it failing before it even gets that far?

Is your operating system and all system drivers up to current maintenance?
