Cannot record with Samson C01U-- screencap included

Hello, all!

I am new to the world of home-recording, and just received my microphone and software today. I'm running it on Windows Vista.

So far I have taken every step suggested in other threads, with no luck. I changed the driver mode to MME, selected the microphone for the input, etc.

Here is where I am stuck:

I cannot select "Left" side or anything like that... it just sticks right there, with no drop-down menu to choose anything from, and will not let me select either option that is presented. It just stays at "none." So far I have not been able to record anything at all. Any help or advice would be VERY much appreciated! :)

So sorry to hear that.... the USB mic is not the best way to do this BUT.... since you have it.....

option 1 is to return it while you can and buy a decent audio interface...

Option 2 is to GO TO THIS CAKEWALK THREAD  and read the info here. Another user has set up a USB mic and got it working. Perhaps this thread would help you.

Best wishes for success to you.

it got solved ;-) but I still say get a decent output card regardless the latency on the onboard interface makes it tricky.
